Our Story
For many people, these stories start as love at first sight, but for Jill and Jordan, it was anything but. It started with acquaintance at first sight, friendship at second, dislike at third, fourth, and fifth. Fast forward to many years later, and it was true love.
Jordan and Jill’s story began in 2010 at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois. The girls were both freshman. Jordan coming to Illinois from Washington D.C. and Jill, from just an hour and a half south, in Evergreen Park.
Though the school was extremely small, Jordan and Jill did not meet for the first time until well into their first year. Jill was a Biology major and a member of the swim team, while Jordan majored in Economics (with a minor in not taking academics too seriously). Because of their different interests, their worlds never collided. That was until Jordan and Jill participated in Lake Forest’s sorority recruitment, where they both pledged Tri Delta.
They first locked eyes across the room in a Lake forest basement at Tri Delta chapter, wondering when all the parties would start. They slowly found themselves migrating into friends, when Jordan provided Jill with her first and only shot of 151 rum. That particular evening was pretty blurry after that. But needless to say, they hit it off. Some silly drama found the two nearing the end college not exactly best friends. However, graduation brought them together again, spending their final day at Lake Forest College drinking Mimosas on the train on the way to graduation. The two parted on friendly, albeit awkward terms, thinking they’d likely never see each other again. Little did they know they’d be back in touch just a few years later.
In April 2015, Jill had completed a seasonal position in Puerto Rico, and Jordan was finishing her first year of law school at Santa Clara University. Jill planned to move to California later in the summer for a position with the Bureau of Land Management in Northern California. Jordan and Jill started talking and decided Jill would stop in for a visit on her way from Illinois to Susanville, California The two spent a long weekend together in May of 2015 in Napa Valley, and the rest is history. They spent the summer of 2015 exploring Napa Valley, San Francisco, and Susanville and began dating on July 4, 2015.
Since that day, Jillian and Jordan and have been truly inseparable (with the exception of two years of cross continental long distance while Jillian got her Masters in Connecticut and Jordan completed her JD/MBA in California). They traveled the world together, exploring Italy, France, Mexico, and Ireland., exploring National Parks across the country and many cities in between.
Jill and Jordan are excited to celebrate their wedding in Napa Valley (where it all began) and continue their life together (with their dog Larry) in San Francisco, California.
